Excellent Mount

By Howard Stockdale on October, 16th 2009

This is one fine mount. Built like a tank and so smooth. Tracking and goto are spot on. As with most TAK equipment this thing is rock solid and should last a lifetime.

EM-400 - Just Right

By John O'Neill on October, 16th 2009

After I ran out of head room with my EM-200 I needed more. I never even considered other mounts, if you owned a Tak you would understand. Any way for an old man I have no problem setting this up in the field. The polar scope is even better with the 400 after I realized there is a mistake in the manual. For Houston the offset is -5 not + 5 as it is in the manual. Other than that, this is in my estimation the ultimate transportable scope, 85 lb load photographic, easy and fast setup and fantastic Tak quality throughout. A must buy for astroimagers. John

An engineering marvel

By John Kammlade on October, 16th 2009

Like others have said, this is a great mount. I upgraded from an EM-200, and use the EM-400 HD Metal Tripod. The Polar Alignment scope is even better than the 200. Be warned though, once you have 85 pounds of capacity, it is awfully difficult not to try and fill it up :)
