I tried this tonight for the first time on my Tak Sky 90/Teegul set up on a Bogen Tripod.I had expected that the drawstring would pull the material all the way around the base of the mount to protect everything in wind and rain. I couldnt get it to close tightly. The material bunched up preventing the shock cord slider to get close enough together. There is still an openning at the mount base.. Im concerened wind and rain will get blown up inside the cover.Im getting another Desert Storm cover like the one I have for my 10 Lx200 GPS.
This cover is NOT intended as a raincoat for your scope. As advertsied, and shown in the picture, this cover is intended to reflect heat when you set up waiting for sundown, and to keep airborn debris like dust, grit and bird waste off of your nice equipment. I have used both the Telegizmo covers and the Desert Storm covers on several of my scopes (4 refractors, a Dobsonian and an SCT). The Telegizmo covers are extremely durable. The Desert Storm covers, in contast, tend to crease, get pinholes and lose aluminization under frequent use and storage, though those for reractors do tend to cover more completely. I prefer the Telegizmo covers.
